I am wondering what anyone here thinks of the latest outrage occurring here in the US demanding that Americans should go back to where they came from if they disagree with our President and his policies?
I find it reprehensible. I thought we were well past the days of that kind of rhetoric. The fact that those words, "Go back to where you came from" came from the mouth of our President makes it even worse. I don't know what is happening in this country. And let's be real, if everyone "went back to where they came from" the ONLY people here would be Native Americans. And when you say that to a Black person, my reaction is, "Hey, YOU were my ride! You brought my people here, dammit!"

So much for the myth of a melting pot society. Not sure if you listen to Dan LeBatard on ESPN. I love how LeBatard cuts through the din of cloaking racism as something else. I dont think its accurate to portray it as a serious issue or racist. Literally the same phrase has been used by millions around the world under Similar circumstances. It was stupid to say since only one of the squad isn't from this country but all 4 constantly sing the praises of many other horrible countries while bashing the u.s. as a no good, racist, bigoted, very bad place that stomps on the rights of people like them. (Ironically ignoring the fact that this is one of the only countries in the world that would allow them the privileges they have in Congress)
I dont see it as you disagree so get out. Instead more like, if you think it's so awful here why not go to those other countries you are always praising.
Also if you boil it down you remove important context. For instance he said that they should try out their policies on the failed governments they love and once they figure out how to make it work come back and show us how it's done. That's not racist it's just practical. If you hate the country no one is forcing you to stay.
