A fable, a metaphor...

"Young and beautiful, someday your looks will be gone..." - Tenille

Once upon a time, back in the days before there was refrigeration, there was a marketplace that local fishermen brought their catches to.

Experienced fish vendors knew to take a reasonable offer when it came in. Younger vendors, who often thought that their fish was something extraordinary, would sometimes hold out because no one was offering the (hyped up) price they thought their fish was worth...

But the day always went on, the sun went higher in the sky, and the fish did what fish does when left to get warm...

And often, those younger sellers had to settle for a low price, or they just weren't able to find anyone who wanted that fish at all by 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

  • Thanks for reminding me of this quote. As a young gay man in the bars I often wondered why there were so few older guys around. Now I am gay and grey and it's not the way in most of the gay world. I am so glad that I was never rude or mean to the older men that hit on me, and that I politely turned down because I did not find older guys attractive. Strangely enough, I keep meeting MUCH younger men who wish to spend time with me in and out of bed. Must be my wisdom and learning that I can share with them...or is it my big cock? LOL Thanks again.
